"... so i took my friends to see the dinning room at Harvard, and after seeing all the facilities, one of my friends turns around at me and asks: Shawn, how could you be unhappy here? what does a Harvard student possibly had to be unhappy about?"

What that question assumes (and most people do too), is that external world is predictive over happiness levels.
But, what you may not know, is that; if I know everything about your external world, I can only predict 10% of your happiness.
90% of your happiness is not predicted by your external world, but by the way your brain processes the world.
For example, only 25% of job successes, are predicted by IQ.
75% of job successes are predicted by your optimism levels, your social support and your ability to see stress as a challenge, instead than as a threat.
So, stop thinking that a new car, a better job or even more money will make you happier. Happiness comes from within.
Or as The Beatles used to sing: "Happiness is a warm gun"
